Who am I

Who am I

The great spiritual Guru Raman Maharshee did penances at mountain Arunachal during 1936 to 1939 in the search of an answer to question “Who am I” and explained to their followers in the form of answers questioned by them. Same trend was followed by many spiritual practitioners and questioned to their Gurus although they are aware that it is the eternal part of their own. Today when I ask same question to myself the answer would be based of three parameters, first is Materialistic, Second is Intellectual and third one is Spiritual.

Explanation over materialistic parameter is futile here, and I feel myself incapable to discuss over spiritual level so remaining is intellectual. Another reason to discuss the same is that I belongs to such family who adopted some spiritual practices but although materialistic and spiritual are two extreme and opposite to each other, Being Liberal and working on middle managerial profile I always choose middle way-out so here I want to explain myself on the basis of my intellectual parameter.

As per the quote of Bramharahasya from Upnishada “Aham Bramhasmi” means I am a part and parcel of Supreme Power. But for me the supreme power means the Materialistic & Spiritual world around me, sometimes it inspired me, saddened me when I get hatred through it or sometime it make me happy when get appreciated. I have responded to some actions which is the sign of liveliness, my existence as a part of society. Society should notice me is my expectation for that I am always trying to develop such abilities, trying to upgrade my knowledge and skills. As per the theory of Darwin or what Shridmad Bhagwad Geeta quoted the change which is continuous & spontaneous we must have to adopt it, this is conciseness and this make me active, some what unstable physically, mentally and socioeconomically. This also make me independent thinker, I do not follow particular philosophy or ideology nor I am a member of any ideological group or school of thoughts. Whenever and whatever I found appropriate I have adopted it without hesitation. I am always ready to accept positive changes in myself for my betterment and ultimately in the betterment of my surrounding and I always act accordingly.

Film review: Massey Sahib

Not so tall, in fact what can be called a dwarf! no charm of good looks, normal, very normal, all around.. minor body;  Ordinary, very ordinary, a man whom no one knew till yesterday goes to the pinnacle of fame in one day, not only in the country but also abroad, earns respect for his natural acting;  People get recognition, The movie Macy Saheb, which released in 1985, gave this glory to Raghuveer Yadav.

This is Raghuveer Yadav's first film.  When he got the role, he was worried about how we would face the camera. He played the role of "Francis Massey" so well that it was as if the role was meant for him. This is the first film directed by Pradip Krishna.  The music was composed by Vanraj Bhatia.  Raghuveer Yadav won two acting awards.  He was honoured with the President's Silver Lotus Award.

The film is based on Joyce Cary's novel "Mr. Johnson"  The film is shot at Pachmarhi in Madhya Pradesh (my favourite tourist destination). The plot takes place during the British colonial period. Massey, Very clever, smart, stubbornly getting what you want!  Overcoming all the lame sides of your personality, with your erratic nature!  He had the ability to get what he wanted, but he was not aware of his limitations.

A tribal girl he loves, how he gets as a wife, how he tries to teach her to live like the upper castes, is all worth watching.  His on screen wife was an artist and novelist. She did not get an acting award in this movie but in 1997 she got the Booker Prize for "The God of Small Things" yes she is "Arundhati Roy".

Raghuveer aka massey is a Christian, he learned English, he is a clerk in the Deputy Commissioner's Office.  With that much capital, he considered himself different from his peers, the equivalent of white officers! Mr. Massey, "Babu"!  In any case, his aim was to keep his white superiors happy, to take care of their wishes, to do whatever he wanted, in one shot he said "Mughals and Indian king built tombs & palaces which is worthless but Britishers building hospital, roads which is more benificial to commons. His boss "Mr. Adam", who was left Road project due to insufficient money, massey works hard to complete that road construction work, to benefit us too, to get money, to get greatness, to take attention of white man. He get involved in to illegal practices like changing the heads of expences, maintaining its record on Rough book, he did this for completion of roadwork but for this he was fired and humiliated by the British government, which values written evidence. Mr. Adam, For whom he did all this, on whom he relied, did not help him.  He stands by the british law and the evidence. His sentiments are nowhere to be found in this black netiquette!  Due to all this, his wife and young child are also forcibly taken back by his inlaws.  Massey, who is in the throes of the situation, tries his best to get out of this situation.  Extreme anger, helplessness, because of this an irrational.. thoughtless action taken by him. One day he quarrelled his friend who refuses to help him, and someone killed him, blame goes to massey and get punished to death sentence. The journey begins with a helpless, compassionate end of a diverse personality full of enthusiasm, full of hope and aspirations.

The multi-faceted personality of man is beautifully expressed here.  Multi-colored man, selfish, arrogant.  Living in your own attitude, a lover, loving father, flattering, winning, losing, desperate .. Really, man, how many colors are yours!  Movies keep you engaged. movie is full of colors. It inspires thinking.  The reality of the British era unfolds before us
